People, you can think what you want and use what symbols you want to represent whatever the fuck you want but you need to study it.
There is no ‘church’ or study school of satanism, there was but it was demolished so you can’t exactly be ‘knighted’ as a satanic priest but the inverted cross is mostly for people who try to be satanist, people who want to be but don’t want to be, people who want others to see them as different.
At my school when people figured out I was a satanist guess what? I didn’t get any kudos, I get threats and discrimination, I’m not looked up to…I stopped carrying my bible and stopped wearing symbols referring to the religion because I was, literally, close to the brink of death because of it, as satanists we don’t “praise” and we don’t go around screaming “we’re satanist…give us attention!” As a matter of fact, (this may just be me personally) we (I) don’t want attention all we want and need is our beliefs and system because we’re always looked down upon…who looks up to us and says “wow, I want to be like them…” Nobody says that because they don’t understand us and that my brothers and sisters is why I stick to the people who have similar beliefs.”
I’ve been a member of the Church of Satan since very early 1997 and was a supporter in contact with various CoS representatives since I was roughly 18 years old (around 1989). Some years after Anton LaVey died his former home was demolished, not the Church of Satan itself—the Church of Satan was never a building! The current Black House is owned by High Priest, Magus Peter H. Gilmore, and High Priestess, Magistra Peggy Nadramia, in New York.
As far as this blogger claiming one can’t become a Priest in the Church of Satan: I know (as do some readers here) several people who were appointed to the Priesthood in the CoS just two weeks ago on Walpurgisnacht (April 30).
Apparently, this blogger should stop whining and heed his own advice: study it! It’s all available at http://www.churchofsatan.com for those who sincerely want to know.
He should also read my previous posts on the inverted cross.
